LittleBigPlanet 2

LittleBigPlanet 2 is and extremely addictive game that is based off of the creations of other players.

Graphics:

The graphics in LittleBigPlanet 2 aren't anything special, but it is a nice change of pace from the whole must look real graphics. Levels in single player range from a queen's bakery to a spaceship. However, even though the enviorments are different in the big picture they are greatly similar in level view. Now, community based levels are where the greatest variety of levels stem from. Many people have created levels that are greatly diverse in colors as well as the lighting of the levels.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is a simple get the scoreboard, or finish line, in the the fastest time possible. To do this you must jump, finangle, and finese your way across platforms and traps. However, the best way to play LittleBigPlanet 2 is by downloading communtiy created maps and game types. These can range anywhere from Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, to asteroids, and even running away from a shark. All in all the gameplay is what makes this game so great. However, the gameplay is much better when you are playing with multiple players expecially with friends.

Story:

The single player story of this game is actually quite entertaining as well as being decently funny. So the basic story is that the Negativitron is stealing all happiness on LittleBigPlanet and you must help the Alliance in creating any army to fight and destroy the Negativitron. Thats about as much information as there is to give.

Sound:

The sound of the gamee is pretty decent, but the sound track is what makes the game what it is. Though not the best there is always a decent beat playing, and helps make the game more enjoyable. The characters during cut scenes sound great, but once it comes to gameplay the only make like grunts instead of words.

Multiplayer:

There is many race and multiplayer game types, however no are all that much fun. The best game type, I found, was the basketball game type that community created. Beyond map making, and playing with other players there is not much the multiplayer in LittleBigPlanet 2.

Overall:

The game is worth a definet buy, but if you really are on the fence about this game obviously rent it first.

Graphics: 7/10 Nothing special, but it definitly makes the game what it is
Gameplay: 9/10 Great fun, and the main part of LittleBigPlanet 2
Story: 6/10 Pretty weak, but it has its' moments
Multiplayer: 9/10 If you don't play with friends or other people it's not that fun
Overall: 9/10 Worth the 60 dollar price tag

The Social Network

The Social Network is the true story of Mark Zuckerburg's creation of Facebook, and the "troubles" that come with it. The Social Network takes place during multiple time frames, but the main setting is during the trials in which Mark is being sued by his best fried Eduardo Saverin and the rich prep brothers Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. However, much of the movie is flashbacks to which Mark explains how Facebook came to be. Surprisingly enough it all started when Mark gets dumped by his girlfriend Erica Albright, and in a drunken outrage he creates a website "Facemash.com". In time Tyle and cameron confront him about creating a Harvard dating site. Mark takes this idea, builds off of it and asks his best friend Eduardo for help in Co-Founding "Facebook".

The Social Network is obviously a drama-esque movie, and I won't lie I'm not a drama fan. This happens to be one of the few movies that doesnt have something blowing up or have me bursting out in laughter that I really enjoyed. I'm going to say right out that I'm not a "Facebook" fanatic, and only go on every so often, but learning the history of it was quite interesting.

All in all,The Social Network is an enjoyable film that deserves atleast one watch.

Civilization V

I have never been a huge player in the Civilization area. I've always loved strategy games, but I never actually played a Civilization game. I had some money and wanted a new game and figured its been getting decent reviews why not take a wack at it. Well I'm happy to say I've found this game to be a homerun.

Story: You want to win...

Gameplay: The gameplay in Civ 5 is a basic RTS matchup but has so much deeper roots than I've even found yet. So the basic idea is to start off with a small city and become a massive superpower empire. However, on the way you will have to deal with starvation, barbarians, and other factions who are working towards the same goal. The basic idea is to start a net of money and start conquering or buying out all oposing factions. During this time you learn new technologys all the way from simple archery to laser beams and stealth bombers. As the game progresses you move into different eras Ancient, Classical, Medieval, Rennisance, Industrial, Modern, and Futuristic (I don't remember what this is called exactly because I have yet to get there). Also, every civilization (18 total) has two special units as well as a special ability that comes into play. Example being Japan uses Bushido so that even weakened units fight with the same strength.

Graphics: One reason I love Civ 5 is that the graphics aren't there to impress anyone. Everything has a cartoonish feel to it, and it makes for great fun. However, when you have a massive army of tanks and infantry it makes for quite a sight. Explosions and what have you are no exceptional sight, however once you have a bustling city going it looks quite impressive. All in all the graphics aren't an amazing game changer however for what the game requires it gets the job done.

Sound: The sound is decent, but by no means extrodinary. The sound track consists of soothing music that won't get your blood boiling or put you to sleep. Battle noises are just like most games with battle. Guys dying give out a shriek of pain, things exploding make a loud boom noise, and cows mooing sound like cows mooing. Nothing here makes you think "Woah that sounded awsome!", but on the counter part nothing makes you feel like the game wasn't trying hard at all.

Story: No score, because there isn't a story really.
Gameplay:9/10 Keeps the fun rolling even without action
Graphics:7/10 Gets the job done
Sound:7/10 Cows sound like cows... Hurray!
Overall: 8.5/10 Worth a buy

Fable 3

I was quite excited to get Fable III into my 360 console. I thoroughly enjoyed the first title of the Fable series. The second Fable was on my "meh" list and had an okay time. Now as for Fable III I'm happy to say its a great way to go out for the series.

Story: So the basic story is that your tyrant brother has gone to far, and must be brought done by a revolution. So embarking on your quest you gain followers by finishing quests and making promises to groups of people. Now once you gain your king or queenship you learn that the "Darkness" is coming and your brother was being a dick to gain money for the defense of Albion. In such, you have the choice of being a good and just ruler but dooming your people, or being a cruel, tyrannical ruler but saving your people from ultimate disaster. There ya go the story in a nut shell.

Graphics: The graphics are of that great (or not so great) Fable cartoonish style. The one big problem with the graphics in this game are the frequent graphical glitches I ran into. For one often in cut scenes hair wouldn't appear properly under their hat.

Gameplay: The gameplay in Fable 3 is that of every other Fable but with one big difference. Instead of gaining experience for the way you kill people (Magic, Melee, or Musket) you gain what is called Guild Seals. You spend these on what is called The Road to Rule and choose between more damage for melee, magic, and range or even more money for jobs completed. Also a fun tid bit, whenever you upgrade any attack attributes whatever weapon you have starts to turn a colour and turns into a different shape. Besides that its like any other RPG, do quests gain your "experience" and become an awesome badass and take down the evil ruler. Though that's where the good stuff ends, and the bad stuff begins. For one there is often a massive frame rate glitch that often happens during a fight or during a job which makes it a pain in the ass. Also your auto lock on will often lock onto an invisible object and fire at nothing. There's plenty of bad glitches and quirks, but it is sooo worth it.

Sound: The track in Fable 3 is the normal medieval style music. The voice acting in Fable has never been that of great nor amazing. It continues in this game with lips just flapping so it looks like they're taking. All in all its not a huge game changer as Fable was never big on the cut scenes.

Overall: 8/10 Its fun, funny, and Fable
Story: 7/10 Nothing great but nothings to bad
Graphics: 8/10 I enjoyed the graphical style of Fable 3
Gameplay: 7/10 A lot of gameplay glitches but some decent gameplay none the less
Sound: 6/10 Decent track but less than decent voice acting

Vanquish

Vanquish is an... interesting title to say the least. I'm not sure what this game tried to accomplish, but I found it a decent game with a little bit of excitment. If your looking for a description of the game basicly look at it as Gears of Halo.

Story: The basic story here is that the Russians are threatening to wipe out the US with a super weapon and a massive robot army. So the president (who strangely looks like Hilary Clinton.... coinsidence?) says we shall not back down and sends out a massive space born army to attack the russian space born super weapon robot army. You play as a top secret government super soldier that can use boosters to thrust around the map. So why did I call it Gears of Halo exactly you may ask yourself?? Its like Gears of War because America is getting wiped out and only some badass dude and his clique can save it. Its like halo because you are a super soldier that doesnt take crap from anyone. Oh, and some scientist gets captured and there you go, the story all in one.

Gameplay: The gameplay is like any other shooter point the reticle and rip shit until you reach a checkpoint. Theres honestly no real top notch thing that makes you want to play this game. I ran into few glitches and no game changing glitches in that. But all in all its bland gameplay with a few ups and downs to try and get the ball rolling.

Graphics: The graphics are pretty good for a game that focuses on fast past action, and constant bullets and missles flying about. However when your about to die you go into a super slow mode where you can shoot missles, and mabye it was just me but my screen got pretty blurry on these parts.

Sound: The sound was okay, except for the usual same phrase 85 times per level and every person in the game says "Fucking Robots" like every 18 seconds. The voice acting wasn't that great, but it got the job done and was better than most games out there now-a-days. One bright spot was the sound track for the game. There is constant techno and dance music playing to keep the blood pumping and making those action sequences all the more exciting.

Overall: 7/10 Decent game though worth a rent more than a buy.
Story: 6/10 Got the job done, but I think James Bond has it covered for the most part
Gameplay: 6/10 Okay, but it didnt change up enough to keep me enthusiastic
Graphics: 7/10 Mediocre graphics that just do enough to make it look next gen
Sound: 8/10 Awsome sound track, however bad voice acting and repetative phrases
