The Expendables

The Expendables is a movie directed Sylvester Stallone and starring Sylvester Stallone. Obviously this movie is all about killing, explosions, and Sylvester Stallone.

To start off there is a story, but it is well weak to say the least. Basicly the group of killers are mercinaries, and they are offered a job. They are supposed to kill the leader of some small island, and it all goes wrong. Blah Blah Blah...

Anywho its all about the action here, plain and simple. Though the explosions become somewhat corny its good fun action. All there is to it is action, so if you want a story this movie is a no go. However, you want a fun flick with guts and bullets flying then have at it.

This movie is all about the action don't go for a good developed plot, just go for explosions, guns, and Sylvester Stallone.

The Other Guys

So I'm going to say this review might be a little more biased then others because I enjoy Will Ferrell's movies (except Taladega Knights). Anyways, this movie is an action-comedy hybrid and luckly Mark Wahlberg is there to be kick ass and Will Ferrell to be well... Will Ferrell.

So the story is two super cops (The Rock and Sameul L. Jackson) end up dead, and someone needs to fill there shoes. Will Ferrell being someone who barley has the requierements to be a cop (he audited his parents at 11) doesnt want to take that step. However, Mark Wahlberg willing to make his comeback from his run in with Derek Jeter decides to take a big case and become the hero cops. Unfortunetly, two other cops want to take the same step and with Will Ferrell as a partner Mark has his work cut out. Thus, the story continues with gun-fire, comedy, and explosions through out.

Though the comedy is good, I really enjoyed the action sequences as they looked like the old 80s and 90s cop movies that are badass. Throught out the movie punch lines are thrown out giving a good laugh (until a baby in the movie theater starts to cry).

This movie is a good comedy and action film, and if you're looking for a good time this is the movie to see.

Dinner for Schmucks

If your on the teeter wondering if you should see "Dinner for Schmucks" then just go. If you say you don't like Steve Carell then you hate yourself and you hate comedy. Also the movie has Zach Galifia... from "The Hangover" so you know its going to be good.

So the story is that Tim (Paul Rudd) is about to get a promotion, but first he has to bring an idiot to a dinner so that the CEOs of the company can make fun of them. If he brings the best "schmuck" then he will get the promotion. So on his way to work while texting on one phone and talking on another he hits Barry (Steve Carell). Finding out Barry is a taxidermist (he makes creepyly awsome creations of life with dead mice) Tim tells him about the dinner (leaving out the part of Barry getting to be the joke of the party). So throught the two days before the party Barry ends up ruining Tim's life and sets out on how to make it right.

The movie starts slow throwing in punch lines here and there, but once the middle part of the movie rolls around it gets more uproarious, if you will. Regardless there is so many lines that are great quotes, but they unfortunetly only make sense to others if they have seen the movie too.

Anywho this movie is a comedy that is a definite see in theaters, and an eager wait to buy.

Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty

So how long has it been 10 years?? THANK GOD ITS HERE!!!

First, the single player is well quite amazing. The story, as expected from Blizzard, is top notch. You follow a man leading a revolution when the Zerg start to remerge and someone close to his heart is leading the attack. So a basic story, but the cutscenes are told like a corny badass action movie (Yes this is a good thing). So when not doing a mission you are in a ship buying upgrades for units, spending research points, and buying mercinaries. Then when you start to fight, you are given entertaining challenges to complete that keep combat fresh (for the most part). Regardless if you just want this for single player I would say its worth it expecailly since you can fight computers or do co-op fights with your friends.

However multiplayer is obviously chalk full of super destroyer Korean awsome players. But, there is an unranked practice area where new players can battle it out. Though I don't really like multiplayer strategy games that require base building (I somewhat suck at building things fast). Anywho I didn't mind this game (though I got completely destroyed the one time I played :D) playing online.

Story: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10 (If you know what you're doing)
Graphics: 8/10
Multiplayer: 9/10
Overall: 9/10

Black Sheep

I have no idea when this movie came out, but i feel that it warrants a review. Ok so first off watch this movie only if it is free, because well its horrible and sadly funny.

Basically this story attempts to have twists that just "ruin" (I use this term lightly) everything, also I had trouble deciding what the heck was going on. Ok so the story is some genetically mutated material or something (wasn't paying to close attention)gets released into New Zealand's sheep population. So the sheep become bitting, snarling, man eating sheep, and sadly (I guess) none of them are black. So the scientists that created this genetic material refuse to help a group of "survivors" and want the sheep to roam free as a type of super soldier thing... As my favorite quote suggests the sheep have had enough of people and, "The sheep are revolting!" And in the chaos the leader of the scientists becomes infected and turns into a... well like a "Weresheep". Oh and a guy has sex with one of the sheep, so ya...

So what comes with a horrible story? Horrible actors! Though I will admit how they kept a straight face through the entire movie is beyond me. I think the worst part of acting came from their accents, I've never met someone from New Zealand but I assume they don't have distinct American accents.

Honestly if you have Cinemax just watch it. Invite a few friends over, and have a few laughs.

Inception

So just saw Inception today starring none other than Leonardo DiCaprio.

Many words could describe this film confusion, excitment, wonder (which sort of corrisponds with confusion but whatever), and most likely wtf?

So the basic story is that science has found a way to go into people's dreams where certain people called extractors can steal information in their mind or train them to stop other extractors from stealing this information whatever it may be. After discovering Leonardo is a fugative (I will spare you the details why), he is hired by a buisness man (played by Ken Watanabe) and is offered a job that can clear Leonardo's name so he can see his children again. The job is to plant an idea into a rival buisness marketer's mind (which is called Inception) though the entire process is entirely difficult. So Leonardo is to compile a team which contains a Forger, which is a person who can impersonate anyone in a dream, an Architect, who designs the entire dream world, and his trusty partner who is another extractor who specializes in Kicks. A Kick is used in the real world that makes the person automatically wake up like falling out of a chair or being dumped into water. So from there they compose a plan and so on and so forth with no important spoilers to be explained.

Honestly this movie isn't big on the action, though in the middle and final scenes some of the action is pretty badass from fist fights in collapsing buildings to a shoot out in a snowy mountain.

Considering all these factors I do believe this movie is a definite theater watch, but it is very story intensive and you must pay attention or you will be lost. So if you want a fun action flick this isn't the right one for you. Enjoy!! And please don't post spoliers since once you know the ending it just ruins it.

Hot Tube Time Machine

So I gotta say I love "The Hangover" and it has to be one of my all time favorite movies. Now to say "Hot Tube Time Machine" is as good as "The Hangover" is an understatement.

As funny as the movie is, the story is obviously a little shallow. The story is just the setting so that the hilariousness (new word?) can continue. The story is three friends (John Cusack, Craig Robinson, and Rob Corddry) go to Kodiak Valley where their teenage years unfolded and made their memorable times. Along for their ride is Cusack's nerdy nephew (Clark Duke), and when they arive the old hotel is run down and a stinker (litteraly). In their old room 420 they jump in a hot tube where Rob Corddry drops his illegal Chernobal energy drink on the hot tube's controls. There they go back to 1986, and they must do everything exactly the same or a Butterfly Effect will happen (which is a great fucking movie according to Rob). So shallow story but hey do you go to McDonalds for the scenery or the the food.

Is it funny? In short yes, but you want an indepth review don't ya? So obviously this movie is built off of being funny, and it doesn't dissapoint. Throughout the movie bombardments of hilariousness fall on you, along with swears and nudity, but hey I don't think any guy (or girl?) is gonna complain. From front to finish there is something to make you laugh from how the bellhop loses his arm and how the time maching repairman thinks Clark Duke is an ugly girl.

I must say I think this movie is worth a buy, but if you still are guessing it truly is worth a rent. However, if you liked "The Hangover", "Hot Tube Time Machine" is going to be right down your alley. Enjoy!! No Wild Sides needed however there is Motley Crue in the movie...
